    Pesticide monitoring

Successfully tracking down pesticides: BNN monitoring of fruit and vegetables in the natural food trade and BNN Monitoring of shelf-stable products are quality assurance systems with a focus on pesticide analyses. BNN monitoring supplements the legally regulated process control of the organic inspection bodies with a final product control and contributes to a continuous quality improvement and a high level of protection against consumer deception.

So that each company does not search alone for causes of pesticide residues or traces of plasticizers, the companies of the Fruit and Vegetable Monitoring and the Dry Goods Monitoring have joined forces to build up a large data pool from which everyone can benefit. In the meantime, the participants can access around 13,000 sample results of fruits, vegetables, nuts, oils, etc. in the monitoring database.

The BNN members understand a pesticide detection - as defined in the concept of the BNN orientation value - as an indication of an error in the process or in the process control. The causes are investigated and countermeasures are initiated. Here, too, the community helps: sharing increases the sample size, which is important to make reliable statements as well as to be able to react adequately. In addition, sharing the data reduces the workload and analysis costs for individuals. This is an advantage for all parties involved. In this way, BNN monitoring leads to continuous quality improvement and a high level of protection against consumer deception.

BNN monitoring is also open to companies that are not organized in the BNN.
