The steering committee for monitoring currently consists of seven members, whose task is to design the work of the BNN monitoring for fruits and vegetables and the BNN focus for dry goods. It decides on change and supplement requests such as the procedure for analysis actions, admits new participants and initiates the BNN accreditation process for laboratories. It decides on all related questions, provided they were not decided on at the participant meeting. It also decides on the access authorization for non-participants (control points, authorities, etc.) to the database.
The members of the steering committee for monitoring carry out their duties independently and free from instructions.
