    Costs

The general costs for maintaining the coordination point for the BNN monitoring are financed by the participants with a graduated annual fixed amount (the reference size is the previous year's turnover of fruits and vegetables). The costs for the pesticide analyses are billed directly to the monitoring system participants by the laboratories.

The frequency of analysis per company is determined based on the company's fruit and vegetable turnover of the previous year. Each company is informed of its annual (maximum) share of analysis costs. For new participants, this share is calculated upon specific expression of interest.

A one-time admission fee in the amount of one year's contribution (plus VAT) is charged per participant company to finance the BNN monitoring database.

The annual fee is calculated as follows (plus VAT) based on the current number of participants:

The annual fee is calculated as follows based on the current number of participants:

Annual turnover up to 3 million euros: 4,600 euros or 2,300 euros for BNN members

Annual turnover > 3 million to 6 million euros: 5,400 euros or 2,700 euros for BNN members

Annual turnover > 6 million to 12 million euros: 6,740 euros or 3,370 euros for BNN members

Annual turnover > 12 million to 24 million euros: 8,960 euros or 4,480 euros for BNN members

Annual turnover > 24 million to 48 million euros: 12,185 euros or 6,092 euros for BNN members

Annual turnover > 48 million to 96 million euros: 15,720 euros or 7,860 euros for BNN members

Annual turnover > 96 million: 19.980 euros or 9.990 euros for BNN members

Should the number of participants decrease, the fixed amount will be increased by a uniform amount per participant regardless of annual turnover. The basis for calculation is the fruit and vegetable turnover of the previous calendar year, which must be communicated to the coordination point and proven upon request. This information is treated strictly confidential. Each participant grants the BNN a SEPA direct debit mandate for the fixed amount to be paid semi-annually. The Monitoring Steering Committee is authorized to make annual adjustments to the annual fee based on costs.

    Self-Analyses

Companies have the option to contribute their own analyses to the data pool. If they decide to do so, they can apply the costs to their overall analysis costs. The following conditions apply:

    1. The report is provided to the coordination point immediately after the completion of the analysis.

    2. The result is treated like a "normal" result (publication, counter-sample, etc.).

    3. The analysis must be conducted by a laboratory recognized by the BNN to ensure the comparability of the analyses.

    4. There must not be a report of the same batch.

A maximum of 25% of the analyses are credited as self-analyses per year.
